AMANPULO, Palawan, Philippines

Consistently in the list of best resorts in the world, this place combines world class amenities, first class service and the feeling of being in your own private island. The last being its most positive point as I don't like crowded places. When i rode the chartered plane towards this place, I almost felt like I was going to heaven. As the plane landed in this small strip, it gave you the feeling that you were going to land on powdery white sand, as the cemented strip was cleverly hidden from view.

As you go down the plane, the people, dressed in native costumes greet you and you ride in these mini golf carts that would take you to your room.

How i heard of this place: I first saw this place on TV (Lifestyle Asia) and something inside me told me that i will go to this place someday. Four years later, I met a friend who gave me Amanpulo, without me asking for it. Blessing.

Must try: Everything

Food: I like their iced tea very much. To the point that it ruined my taste buds for any other iced tea. I heard it's only available there. Their restaurant - the mood was very romantic. Candle lit dinners... You have a singer or two playing this spanish guitar and serenading you with tagalog songs.

Amenities: I might be exaggerating, but i think whatever you think of, you could find it here.
Pool: Infinity pool perfection. At night, the lighting gives the pool this look as if it was part of the floor.

Beach: Powder White Sand (i'd say blinding white, the type of white one sees either in a laundry commercial or when one is having near death experience) , feels like white sugar, crystal clear water, alive, full of fishes. Warning: they feed the fishes with "sosyal" bread, I was about to take one from the staff and eat it.

Price: Ranges from 600 US dollars to 3000 dollars a night. Chartered plane back and forth manila is 300 dollars. Go figure how expensive everything is in this place. For me, about five days of stay here cost me - 0 dollars. This i owe to my friend, RG. Until now, i still can't repay him for this.

Rate: I give it five ipods. So this is what the garden of Eden looks like...
Conclusion: If you can, go to this place. It's worth it. I think you would be hard pressed to find any place quite like this anywhere.
